Performance

Powered by a 255 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class is paired with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission. As you go higher up, you will get a 362 horsepower hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged inline-six and novel 48-volt electrical system and comes with an all-wheel drive as standard. The top trim GLE580 packs more power with its 48-volt system combined with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 to produce up to 504 horsepower. Additionally, every model can be upgraded with a cutting-edge air suspension system that enables the driver to lean into corners and get loose when stuck in sand or mud.

Infotainment System

Mercedes-Benz has taken care of the technology in the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. It gets a dual 12.3-inch infotainment display matching the length of the dashboard and offers various ways to interact with the system, such as the MBUX voice-recognition system. Similar to Apple’s Siri or Google’s virtual assistant, MBUX can respond to several commands, therefore allowing the driver to keep their hands on the wheel but being able to turn up the heat, tune to a specific radio station, or switch on the ventilated-seat function. A touchpad on the center console allows tactile interaction with the infotainment system, and it has a touchscreen display. Other features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot come standard, which makes it easier to keep up with calls, texts, and other communications while on the go.
