What is the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLB?
As each new model year comes up on the horizon, fans are eager to see what’s to come from their favorite manufacturers. While many wait for the news to drop, others love going to various auto shows to see the newest announcements for vehicles and technologies in person. With 2020 just ahead, Mercedes-Benz showcased an exciting new model. So, what is the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLB?
Recently back in April, Mercedes-Benz attended Auto Shanghai across the world and had plenty to show. Throughout the exciting show, the team showcased their exciting new Concept GLB. This new model is a crossover SUV, which has been one of, if not the most popular, vehicle segments with drivers today.
Where the crossover segment has plenty of positives such as affordability and efficiency, some drivers wish these kind of models offered a bit more space and power. With the new Concept GLB from Mercedes-Benz, the team is hoping to combat those concerns by offering a powerful and spacious new model, all while remaining sporty and compact.
Performance of the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLB
Within the Mercedes-Benz SUV lineup, there has been a gap in size and space between the GLA and GLC models. The new Concept GLB is expected to fill that void. The new Concept GLB will be able to seat up to seven passengers, with 40:20:40 split-folding middle row seats and 40:60 split-folding third row seats.
The Concept GLB will be powered by a M260 four-cylinder gas engine, which will be paired with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. This engine will have an exciting output of 224 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
