MONTHLY PRIZE GIVEAWAY

To show our appreciation for their loyalty, each month we hold a prize drawing for our customers.  When they visit for service, we collect their name and email address, which enters them into the drawing.  At the end of each month, a winner is selected.

Service Tips Corner

Service Tips Corner-

  • Oil should be changed when recommended by the ASSYST system on your instrument cluster. Our synthetic oils that we use are specifically formulated for our vehicles and are generally not available in retail stores. For example, Mobil 1 Formula M 5W40 is what we use in most of our vehicles today. Mercedes-Benz has specific requirements for many of its fluids, specifically motor oil. We use 229.5 spec oil. There are very few oils on the market that meet this specification We are the first to use a fully synthetic oil filter with the capacity to absorb up to 20% more dirt and contaminants than conventional paper filters.
  • Tire rotation should be done regularly to insure maximum life of your tires. Depending on driving habits, this may be as often as every six months. Please note that some of our vehicles have staggered wheel/tire combinations which means that the vehicle has slightly wider or larger tires and wheels on the rear axle. This would prohibit our rotating of the tires. In this instance, we would inspect the tires and wheels for excessive wear only and replace as necessary.
  • Brakes should be inspected often to ensure optimum safety. If the vehicle is not used often, you should drive slowly at first to make sure that you have full braking capabilities. It is possible to have rust build up on the braking surfaces when your vehicle is not driven for long periods of time. It can take several miles of driving to remove the layer of rust build up on the brake rotors. In addition, be careful when cleaning the wheels. Make sure the brakes and wheels have completely cooled down. Cold water on hot brake rotors can cause brake rotor damage.
  • Do not randomly shift from "D" to "N", avoid shifting to "N" while driving, and do not shift to "R" before the vehicle reaches a full stop. This is very important, in order to avoid transmission damage.
  • Fluid changes are probably the single most important aspect of maintaining your vehicle. Because there are many maintenance schedules depending on the year or model of your vehicle, please consult your owner’s manual for additional information. For example, many older vehicles require transmission service every 30,000 miles while most newer models require transmission servicing every 100,000 miles. Brake fluid needs to be changed every two years on many models, and engine coolant needs replacement on a regular basis (Every three years on some models, every 100,000 miles on others)
  • The coolant should be checked annually by your authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer to ensure it’s purity and strength. This is necessary to provide protection at both high and low temperatures.
