The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS has finally been released, and we’ve got the entire lineup right here at Mercedes-Benz of Wilmington in Delaware. The 2018 model year is an exciting one for the new Mercedes-Benz GLS, as it now includes more standard features than ever before, including an AIRMATIC air suspension, Active Brake Assist, Crosswind Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST®, PRE-SAFE®, mbrace® (including five years of complimentary service), Brake Assist®, power folding third-row seats, Remote Start, a rearview camera, a power liftgate and power folding mirrors featuring a Mercedes-Benz logo projector.

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS lineup also features a wide array of options to choose from, including Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function, active LED headlamps, MAGIC VISION CONTROL®, the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM, a panoramic roof, ambient lighting and a Driver Assistance Package that features Distance Pilot DISTRONIC®, Steering Pilot, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and a collision monitoring system.



2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS Model Lineup and Powertrain Choices

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS lineup is made up of three models – the new Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC SUV, the new Mercedes-Benz GLS 550 4MATIC SUV and the new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 SUV.

Each of these new Mercedes-Benz GLS models has its own unique personality, and that uniqueness includes what’s found under the hood. A 3.0-liter V6 Biturbo engine powers the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC model. Mated with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission complete with wheel-mounted shift paddles, this powertrain provides you with up to 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and gets you up to 17 city MPG and 22 highway MPG. A 4.7-liter V8 Biturbo engine powers the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS 550 4MATIC model. While this engine is also mated with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission and its wheel-mounted shift paddles, it can provide you with up to 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, and get you up to 14 city MPG and 19 highway MPG. Finally, a handcrafted AMG 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine is found under the hood of the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 model. You get an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission with wheel-mounted shift paddles for this engine, which can provide you with up to 577 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque, and get you up to 13 city MPG and 18 highway MPG.
