Mercedes-AMG models are known for their exceptional performance. But, none have come close to that of the “Beast of the Green Hell.” The Mercedes-AMG GT R has set the fastest-ever lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the world’s toughest race track which is nicknamed the “Green Hell.”

One lap on the Nordschleife tests all aspects of performance for a sports car and the “Beast” stepped up to the challenge. The Mercedes-AMG GT R was able to complete one lap in only 7 minutes and 10.9 seconds, a time never made by any sports car not just Mercedes-Benz models.

The track is 12.94 miles (20.832 km) long and features tight corners, a variety of road surfaces, steep inclines and gradients and dangerous crests.
