While five different Mercedes-Benz models, the 2018 AMG® GT, 2018 AMG® GT C, 2018 E Coupe, 2018 GLA and 2017 SLC, all made their debut at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, one of the more sought after vehicles is the GT C. Let’s dive in deeper to see what was shown during the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT C debut at the Chicago Auto Show.
What’s New in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT C?
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the AMG® models. With this in mind, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT C aims to continue the trend of providing luxury features to consumers. An exclusive “Edition 50” GT C model will also be made available, featuring an exterior color of Graphite Grey Magno and a nappa leather interior colored Silver Pearl and Black. A standard Interior Night package on the “Edition 50” also includes a black-colored steering wheel, wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels.
The 2018 GT C is equipped with a powerful handcrafted AMG® 4.0-liter V8 engine with twin turbochargers and direct injection. This engine is capable of an incredible 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque. The 2018 AMG® GT C also can reach 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, and it has a top speed of 196 mph.
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT C also includes safety features such as stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes and dual-front airbags. While the GT C roadster is expected to release in the United States by the fall of 2017, this GT C model currently has no release date. However, it will likely be released alongside the roadster model.
