Comparing the Engines of the Three 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS Trim Levels

Each 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim level features its own exciting and impressively capable engine. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC SUV features a 3.0-liter V6 Biturbo engine offering 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque while getting 17 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. This engine is paired with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS 550 4MATIC SUV features a 4.7-liter V8 Biturbo engine offering 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque while getting 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 miles per gallon on the highway. This engine is also paired with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 SUV features a handcrafted AMG 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine offering 577 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque while getting 13 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles per gallon on the highway. This engine is paired with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel-mounted shift paddles.
