Differences Between the 2016 C300 and the C300 4MATIC

With the 2016 C300 and C300 4MATIC the main difference is the drive configuration. From top to bottom the engine specifications for both C-Class models are identical, excepting the drivetrain. The Mercedes-Benz C300 sedan features a rear-wheel drive configuration that enhances acceleration through an increase in traction caused by the weight transfer.

The C300 4MATIC offers drivers the advantage of the Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Different from four-wheel drive, the 4MATIC all-wheel drive optimizes torque and control of every wheel all the time. The 4MATIC system provides increased effectiveness on corners and in less than ideal road conditions. Along with the 4MATIC system also comes Mercedes-Benz’s 4-wheel Electronic Traction System. While the standard Electronic Stability Program reduces engine power to retain control the 4-wheel ETS responds with torque application to the proper wheels individually, to provide the best grip.
